Frequently Asked Questions

Here are the answers to the questions we get asked the most about our practice and services.

Frequently Asked Questions

Dr. Keller and Dr. Ryan recommend bringing your child to the dentist six months after the first tooth comes in. We look forward
to seeing you!

Are you a preferred provider with my insurance plan?

We are happy to submit claims with all insurance plans. We are in network with Premera Blue Cross, Delta Dental, MetLife, Medicaid, and TRICARE.

What if my child needs dental surgery?

Dental surgery for children today is more common than ever, and both Dr. Keller and Dr. Ryan are highly skilled and experienced in all pediatric dental procedures. We offer in-office treatment under general anesthesia with an attending anesthesiologist. This is a great option for patients who require multiple visits to complete treatment. Our in-office setting is also perfect for patients who are fearful due to past experiences, have anxiety or are unable to stay calm for treatment. When in-office treatment is not possible, our doctors also have privileges at Providence Alaska Medical Center.

My child does not do well visiting the dentist. How can you help?

Our entire staff is very skilled in relating to children and managing behavior. We take the time to understand each individual child and what their concerns may be. Sometimes all that is needed is a little distraction, which is why all of our treatment rooms are equipped with iPads so the patient can watch a movie or show while being treated. We also offer nitrous oxide for those patients needing a little extra help to relax.
